Abstract
To estimate the reference values of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets, authors measured CD3£«, CD4£«, CD8£«, CD3£«HLA-DR£«, CD3-CD16£«CD56£« and CD19£« cells in 63 healthy adult subjects, 38 males and 25 females of ages from 20 to 57 years. All
EDTA
blood samples were obtained from healthy adult subjects who had no history of viral or other illnesses or medication in Pusan national University hospital in the period of January to September, 1992. Analysis of peripheral blood lymphocyte
subsets
was
performed by flow cytometric method(FACSort, Becton-Dickinson, Sunnyvale, Ca, USA). The reference ranges of CD3£«, CD4£«, CD8£«, CD3£«HLA-DR£«, CD3-CD16£«CD56£«, and CD19£« cells were 53.1~82.3%, 26.8~52.8%, 19.6~42.8%, 7.0~23.0%, 8.0~30.0% and
8.0~25.0%, respectively. And the reference ranges of CD4/CD3 ratio was 0.81~2.66. the mean percentage of CD4£« and CD3£«HLA-DR£« cells was significantly higher in female compared to male. The mean percentage of CD3£« cells and mean Cd4/CD8 ratio
tended
to be higher in female compared to male.
